Must Know Candidiasis Symptoms
Candidiasis symptoms are very common among women. But of course, very few will admit they have it. The stigma associated with any genital infection creates an embarrassing situation. Other people think that the infection is so rare and it reflects a poor personal hygiene. But to correct this misconception, at least 50% of women will have the infection in their life. Do not feel bad because it does not reflect a poor hygiene but a weakened immune system. Probably your next interest would be to know whether what you have is really Candidiasis and not other forms of infection. So, if you are ready, here are the things you must know about the most-kept secrets of women.
Classic Symptoms
Candiadiasis may be diagnosed based on the classic symptoms observed among women. But it is important to remember that not all women exhibit all the candidiasis symptoms. Some may only show a few signs.
Vaginal Discharge
Normally, women have small discharge. You might even call this as the “white blood” as it appears whiter than the ordinary blood you have. Your discharge becomes alarming if the secretion becomes too white and thick. Some experts describe the discharge as having a cottage cheese like appearance. It does not emit an unusual odor which makes some women to think that it is normal. But the fact that you see these staining your underwear should warrant your concern. Probably, your first step is to change your undies or panty liner more frequent. But remember, this step does not correct the main cause of the problem. You need to see your doctor at once when you notice the unusual discharge.
Vaginal Pain and Soreness
Along with the thick discharge, you might have notice pain around your genitals. The sensation is due to the sore mucous lining of the vaginal canal. The candidiasis symptoms intensify when you urinate or engage in sexual intercourse. As a result, you may have a lowered interest for sex. Before your partner thinks that you are getting cold with him, seek medical treatment.
Itching
Itching is probably the reason which made you think that the infection is due to poor personal hygiene. But to stress the point, it has nothing to do with it. The itching can be very irritating especially if you are a working woman. Thus, to avoid scratching your private parts and annoying the people around you, let the symptom prompt you to consult your doctor.
Candidiasis is not a sexually transmitted infection. However, the best way to get rid of the candidiasis symptoms is to treat the problem the moment your see any of the signs.
